About
Purple Pants. Green Jersey. Can’t lose. (Or is it Clear Eyes, Full Hearts?)
When I was in the fifth grade, I went to a new school. For some reason (I like to think it was loyalty), I wore the same purple pants. Everyday. My friends at school affectionately (at least that’s what I told myself) referred to me as “Purple Pants.” Now that I live in Minnesota, “Purple Pants” seemed like a fitting name for a Vikings blog.
Just because I moved to Minnesota doesn’t mean that I forgot my Packers roots. The “Green Jersey” is a reference to my upbringing. In my house, Sunday afternoons were Packers days. Our family gathered in “The Womb” to watch games. The Womb was the stuff of legends: Packers wallpaper, Brett Favre and Reggie White autographed posters, paraphernalia from numerous Packers games, framed photos of my father’s favorite players. It was an ideal environment for cheering on the Pack.
Unfortunately, The Womb no longer exists. Maybe this blog is my feeble attempt to recreate that special place.

Hey, thanks for the comment yesterday. Your site is great – I’ve added it to our blogroll as well. Cheers, R.G.
Your classmate Kate told me about your site — love the Pack and Vikings coverage along with some great writing. Keep up the good work!
Do you still have the purple pants?
Unfortunately, no. I’ve looked far and wide, but I don’t think I could ever find anything to replace the original purple pants.
