Want A Piece Of The Metrodome Roof? $4 Dollars, Please
The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission had found a clever way to attract visitors to the Metrodome — give away the store.
The cost associated with replacing the deflated Metrodome roof is $25 million dollars, with the vast majority covered by insurance. In order to raise the money to pay the $25,000 deductible, the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, which manages the Dome, will offer pieces of the old roof for $4 dollars.
To get your hands on a piece of history, you will need to be one of the first 2,000 people to take the public tour this season. Tours are offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11 a.m. beginning in April.
The new roof is scheduled to be ready by August 1 in time for the Vikings preseason.
