Adrian Peterson Injures Ankle, MRI Scheduled For Monday
Shortly after logging his 50th career touchdown, Adrian Peterson found himself on the sidelines. While making a tackle Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander fell on Peterson’s ankle, and Peterson said the ankle “started to throb a little bit.”
The Vikings training staff re-taped the ankle, but Peterson said the pain was too significant to return to the game.
“I would have tried to go out there,” said Peterson. ”Trust me, if I could have went, I would have been out there. But it was just unbearable.”
Peterson’s teammate, defensive end Ray Edwards, also left the game with an ankle injury. Both players are schedule for MRIs on Monday. The team will likely reveal the extent of both player’s injuries during interim head coach Leslie Frazier’s press conference scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday.
