Clay Matthews, NFC Player Of The Week, Mic’d Up
Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews III has won his second Defensive Player of the Week award in the 2010 season. Matthews earned the accolade for registering 4 tackles, a sack and a 62-yard interception return for a touchdown during the Packers rout of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
Matthews sack of Jon Kitna added to his league-leading 10.5 on the season. The second year player out of the University of Southern California is the first player in Packers history to record at least 10 sacks in each of his first two seasons, and Matthews 10.5 sacks on the season powers a defense that leads the league in total sacks, registering 28 quarterback sacks through 9 games. That sort of dominance is why Clay Matthews is being included in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year.
Clay Matthews’ play speaks for itself, but the NFL Network decided to wire the linebacker during Sunday night’s game anyway. You can watch Matthews dominate Dallas and listen to him poke fun at his teammates over on NFL.com.

I love how much sh*t he gives Zombo. Has since preseason. He’s the second coming of Lawrence Taylor (hopefully sans the whole crack thing).
Solid.
