Brett Favre’s Elbow & Chris Cook’s Knee
With the second coming of Randy Moss, it almost went unnoticed that Brett Favre conducted his weekly press conference with a large bag of ice on his throwing elbow. Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Favre may be dealing with tendinitis in his right elbow, but Favre told reporters that he is “not overly concerned” about the injury.
“Of course, that’s the throwing arm, so a little bit more of a concern,” said Favre. “I’ve probably iced more in the last three weeks than I have in my whole career. I don’t want to say I’m getting overly mental, but I want to be crisp.”
Favre is going to need that “crispness” as he faces a formidable Jets defense on Monday night.
Favre’s elbow wasn’t the only surprise to come out of Winter Park yesterday. Rookie cornerback Chris Cook missed practice after re-injuring his knee. It is the same knee that sidelined Cook for the first two games of the season after he tore meniscus in the knee during an August 28 preseason game.
Head coach Brad Childress said Cook’s injury could force the rookie to miss Monday night’s game.
